5 Things You Need to Know About Cat5e Plenum Cable

Plenum Cat5e Cable is widely utilized in both residential and commercial applications. The reason is simple: it is less expensive than Cat6 and Cat6a ethernet connections while still supporting high-speed data transmission. The following are five things you should know about Cat5e Plenum Cable:

CMP-rated jacket

A CMP-rated jacket is included with the Cat5e Plenum 1000ft. When it comes to ethernet cable jacket material, this is the highest rating. CMP stands for Communications Multipurpose Cable, Plenum, and this cable type is fire resistant. It means that if a fire breaks out or this cable is exposed to flames, it will not produce any hazardous fumes or elements, and it will stop the fire from spreading due to its greater level of flame resistance.

Usage

The Cat5e Plenum 1000ft, as its name suggests, is designed to be installed in the plenum or horizontal regions of structures, such as beneath elevated floors or above-suspended ceilings. In the plenum or horizontal spaces, the chance of a fire erupting is always greater. As a result, only plenum-rated cables can be installed in these areas.

Plenum-rated cables can also be used in the riser and outdoors due to their high-quality jacket material. It cannot, however, be reversed (i.e., riser-rated or PVC cables cannot be used in plenum spaces).

Conductors

Pure copper conductors and copper-clad aluminum conductors are also available in the Cat5e Plenum Cable. The attenuation of ethernet cables containing CCA conductors is substantially higher than that of pure copper cables. If you're not sure what attenuation is, let us define it for you: it's the loss of signal intensity.

When comparing CCA cables to pure copper cables, another drawback is that the former has up to 55 percent higher DC resistance.

Pure copper conductors also perform well in difficult situations due to their high resistance to crosstalk and ability to prevent electromagnetic interference.

In reality, when compared to CCA cables, pure copper Cat5e cable outperforms them by a large percentage. As a result, Cat5e Plenum Bare Copper cable is always preferable to Cat5e CCA cables.

Data transfer rates & bandwidth capabilities

Data transmission rates of 100Mbps and 1Gbps are supported by the Cat5e Plenum Bare Copper over distances of 100 meters and 50 meters, respectively. The cable has a bandwidth of 350 megabits per second. Remember that our Cat5e cables have considerably better data transmission rates and bandwidth capabilities than industry norms. The wire gauge is 24AWG.

Standards

Our Cat5e Plenum 1000ft complies with all industry requirements, including the FCC, CE, CSA, ISO/IES, and RoHS. It also complies with all TIA/EIA requirements. In addition, before reaching the store, our Cat5e cable undergoes extensive testing.
